Step Up For Students · EMA Marketplace provider

Your scholarship can pay for tutoring.

U Tutors Academy is a provider on the Step Up For Students EMA Marketplace. If your student has a Step Up scholarship, you can use it for one-on-one tutoring at our Coral Gables center. Here is exactly how.

Who can use it

Most Step Up scholarships cover part-time tutoring

  • FES-UA and PEP. Part-time tutoring is an eligible expense.
  • FTC and FES-EO. Tutoring can be paid from funds left after private school tuition and fees.
  • New Worlds Scholarship Accounts. Eligible. Ask us first and we will check the match.

Scholarship-funded sessions are taught by instructors whose credentials qualify under Florida law, and we bill scholarship funds only for sessions already delivered: we invoice EMA after each session.

Approve each EMA invoice within 7 days; an invoice that isn’t approved in time, is denied, or is more than your balance is charged to your card at that session’s rate. When we accept Step Up’s payment as full payment, we never bill you the difference.

Packages, late cancellations and no-shows aren’t billed to scholarship funds, and referral credits aren’t available on scholarship-funded accounts. If you plan to pay us yourself and ask Step Up to reimburse you, tell us before booking; those sessions are handled as scholarship-funded, and any refund we make of an amount Step Up reimbursed goes back to Step Up.

Step Up sets the rules and they can change each school year. Your EMA account shows your student's program and balance.

How to book us in EMA

Seven steps, about ten minutes

You do this in your own Step Up account. Use Chrome or Firefox; Step Up recommends them.

1

Book the free consultation

We meet your student, find where the gap starts, match an instructor and tell you the hourly rate, so you know how many hours to reserve.

2

Log in to EMA

Go to stepupforstudents.org, click Apply/Login, then Log In to EMA.

3

Open Find Providers

Click Marketplace on the left side of the dashboard, then Find Providers.

4

Search for U Tutors Academy

Select your student, then search by name: type U Tutors Academy. Our listing is at 5915 Ponce de Leon Blvd, Ste 18, Coral Gables, FL 33146, so you can also search by location.

5

Add tutoring to your cart

Choose Part-Time Tutoring Services at the hourly rate we quoted you ($85, $125, $150 or $160), enter the number of hours, and add it to your cart.

6

Reserve the funds

Open the cart, click Reserve Funds, check Yes, and click Confirm. That sets the money aside and shares your contact details with us.

7

Call us to schedule

Call or text 786-730-6332. After each session we invoice Step Up through EMA, and Step Up pays us from your student's account.

The other way

Pay us yourself, then get reimbursed

If you would rather pay first, Step Up reimburses eligible tutoring you have paid for.

  • Pay by card or bank transfer, not cash. Step Up does not reimburse cash payments.
  • Ask us for the invoice. It is on our letterhead with the student's name, the tutor's name, the session dates, the hourly rate and the total.
  • Submit the request in EMA with the invoice and your proof of payment.
  • Step Up says a request can take up to 60 days to process once everything is received.

Step Up does not allow a provider, a school or anyone else to use your EMA account. We will never ask for it.

Funds come in quarters

You can only reserve what is already in the account. If the balance looks low, the next quarter's funds may not have arrived yet.
