The center
A small center, on purpose.
U Tutors Academy is a one to one tutoring center on Ponce de Leon Blvd in Coral Gables, about a mile and a half from the University of Miami campus. We take ten students at a time.
Nobody sits in a group. There is no online-only tier and no packet of worksheets. A student comes in, works with one instructor in a private cubicle, and the session can be recorded, if you want that, so a parent can watch it later.
Who runs it
Krishan Gonzalez
Krishan founded U Tutors and runs the center.
- Vanderbilt University, computer engineering and electrical engineering with computer science
- University of Miami, MS in mathematics and finance
- Fourteen years teaching mathematics at Barry University and Miami Dade College
- Began as a lead tutor at the University of Miami's Camner Center for Academic Resources
- Heads the Coral Gables Qualified Opportunity Fund

Who teaches?
Handpicked handpicked university students and instructors, with Krishan Gonzalez running the center.
Why only ten students?
Because one to one stops being one to one when the roster grows. It is a cap, not a target, and it means the roster is sometimes closed.

Is there online tutoring?
No. Students come to the center. The cubicles, the tablets and the session recording are the reason the model works and none of them travel.
