College tutoring · University of Miami and beyond · Coral Gables

The course is hard. The help should be close.

One-on-one tutoring for college students, in the Plumer Building on the University of Miami’s Coral Gables campus. Calculus, organic chemistry, physics, statistics and programming, and the GRE, GMAT, MCAT, DAT, OAT and TOEFL.

Coursework

The problem set is due. The lecture did not cover it.

A college course assumes the one before it. When a semester starts to slip, the fastest fix is usually a specific gap from an earlier course, found and closed, rather than more hours on this week's chapter.

  • Mathematics. Calculus 1 to 3, linear algebra, differential equations, statistics.
  • Sciences. General and organic chemistry, physics, biology, anatomy and physiology, neuroscience.
  • Computing. Programming and complex coding, data structures, computer science coursework.
  • Writing. Essay and academic writing, and academic English for students whose language is the obstacle rather than the subject.

Taught one-on-one by university students and instructors. Krishan Gonzalez holds a master's in mathematics and finance from the University of Miami and taught mathematics for fourteen years.

Graduate and professional exams

Built backwards from the test date

GRE, GMAT, MCAT, DAT and OAT for University of Miami students, post-baccs and career changers, and TOEFL for students whose academic English is standing between them and admission.

1. Diagnostic

So the plan starts from evidence rather than a feeling about which sections are weak.

2. The content costing points

Taught one-on-one. For the quantitative sections that means an instructor with real mathematics credentials, not a prep book read one chapter ahead.

3. Format, pacing, spaced review

Timing and when to skip, then review intervals that widen to the test date instead of collapsing into a cram in the last two weeks.

Our approach

The fastest way to learn is to take your time

Review at widening intervals instead of cramming. Change the schedule and watch what a term of studying retains.

Cramming buys the test day. Spacing buys the year.

These curves model the shape of the spacing effect. They are illustrative, not measured student results.

Questions parents ask

Do you tutor college students, or only children?

Both. The center is in the Plumer Building on the University of Miami's Coral Gables campus (U Tutors Academy is independent and not affiliated with the University of Miami), and college coursework and graduate exams are part of what it was built for.

Which courses?

Calculus through differential equations, linear algebra, statistics, general and organic chemistry, physics, anatomy and physiology, programming and data structures, and academic writing. If your course is not here, ask.

Is this a study group or a class?

No. One instructor, one student, every session. Ten students at a time.

How does graduate exam prep work?

A diagnostic first, then a schedule built backwards from your test date: the content that is costing points, then format and pacing, then spaced review so it is still there on the day.

Do I need a parent to sign up?

Not if you are 18 or over. Book the free consultation yourself, or call.

Ten seats. One could be yours.

The consultation is free and takes one session. You will know more than another week of guessing would tell you.
